Born in 2005, Hong Kong violist Wyatt Li began his music journey at the age of 11, where he studied violin with Professor Gian Paolo Peloso by joining the junior music program organised by the Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts. He then also studied viola with Professor Born Lau at the age of 15 under the recommendation from Professor Gian.
Wyatt has won many prizes at national music competitions in Hong Kong since a young age, His great passion for music has led him to attend many international event including the Hong Kong Youth Music Camp 2023 led by Hong Kong Music Officer, Musicus Fest 2022 led by Musicus society, and the Student Concert Hall 2021 organised by Radio Television Hong Kong. He has also participated in masterclasses led by Alexander Gilman, Aurelie Entringer, Michael Ma, among others, and performed in concert venues such as Cadogan Hall, St. Paul Cathedral Church, St Mary Abbots Church, Hong Kong City Hall and Hong Kong Cultural Centre. Wyatt has also performed with many world-renowned artists including Alessio Enea, Kumi Matsuo, Michael Rosewell, Howard Williams, James Blair etc.
Wyatt has received a scholarship from the Royal College of Music, London, and is now studying viola with Professor Bryony Gibson-Cornish. He has been a member of the RCM’s string band, RCM’s Opera Orchestra and RCM’s Chorus. He is also a current member of Young Musicians Symphony Orchestra.
