Jacky started his violin lesson at the age of six. He studied the Master of Music in Performance at the Royal Northern College of Music with of Mr. Leland Chen (First Prize winner in the Yehudi Menuhin International Violin Competition) and Bachelor of Arts (Honours) Degree in Music degree at the Hong Kong Baptist University with Mr. Anders Hui (the Second Associate Concertmaster of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra) He also studied with Mr. Ivan Chan (Associate Professor of Music at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts), Mr. Ngai-ho-Chau (the former Concertmaster of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra) etc. He has more than 10 years experience in teaching with students from the age of 5 to adult in all different levels. He is currently playing the violin and the bow that made by himself in 2022.
He collaborated with many distinguished artists, including Joshua Bell, Vadym Kholodenko, Nigel Armstrong, Edward Auer, Eriko Daimo, Anne Akiko Meyers, Olivier Stankiewicz, and Andrew von Oeyen etc. His worldwide performance highlight such as played as the Associated Concertmaster at the Berlin Philharmonie in German (2024), the Bridgewater Hall in the UK (2024), Texas Music Festival (2023), Eastern Music Festival in the USA (2019&2017) and the International Music Festival EURASIA in Yekaterinburg Russia (2015).
He holds the following certifications:
- Level 6 Diploma in Music Performance Licentiate of Trinity College London, (LTCL) Violin Recital with Distinction
- Level 4 Diploma in Music Performance Associate of Trinity College London, (ATCL) Violin Recital with Distinction
- Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music Grade 8 Viola with Distinction
- Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music Grade 8 Music theory with Distinction
- Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music Grade 8 Piano
