Tam graduated with Bachelor of Arts(Hons) in Music at Hong Kong Baptist University and studied with Jarod Vermette (Principal Trombone, Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra) and Benjamin Pelletier. After graduation from Hong Kong Baptist University. He had his further study in Postgraduate Diploma in Solo Performance at Royal Northern College of Music, UK and studied with Simon Cowen (Principal Trombone, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra). Hs has taught for 14 years in 1:1 lessons and different primary schools and secondary schools from beginning level to Pre Conservatory level. Apart from teaching, he was a freelance player of some professional orchestras and ensemble for years. He has a lot of performance experience to share with his students.
