Born and raised in Hong Kong, Kwanyee Chan completed her Bachelor of Music (Contemporary Music and Performance Pedagogy) in 2018 at the Education University of Hong Kong, studying with Tino Maxwell where she received the CCA Artistic Excellence Award. Currently, she was awarded a Scholarship to study Artist Masters programme at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London where she studies with Professor Lucy Parham.

Kwanyee has been performing actively in both her hometown Hong Kong and London such as the Barbican Centre’s Milton Court, Hong Kong City Hall, RTHK Radio 4 and Hong Kong Cultural Centre. In April 2018 she performed ‘Ink and paper ’by Hong Kong Young Composer Meilina Tsui, in the Match Making Concert 2018 – Emerging Composer/Emerging Performer. Same year, she performed concerto with EdUHK Orchestra in Sha Tin City Hall. In 2019 she was invited to record two new works by Hong Kong composer Elena Chiu and Leung Hin-yan and perform in the Contemporary Choral Composition of Chinese poems concerts held by the Hong Kong Composers Guild. In September 2021 she was invited to perform in a global concert in London featuring women pianist-composers from the Spanish-speaking world, organized by Festival International de Música de Tecla Española.

Kwanyee has also worked with greatly acclaimed pianists such as Colleen Lee, Paolo Vairo, Mary Woo, Carl Lo, Julie Kwok, Rachel Cheung and Havilland Willshire in International masterclasses during her undergraduate degree. She has won top prizes at competitions including the 2nd prize at the 2016 Liszt Memorial Prize International Piano Competition and Champion at the 2017 Macao-Asia Pacific Youth Piano Competition. She has also won 1rd prize in the 2016 Hong Kong Youth Music Competition, as well as the 1st prize in the 2021 Red Maple Music Competition.

Kwanyee was recently selected to be on the artist roster of Talent Unlimited.
