Haley Tang (Piano)

Teaching location: Manchester

Tang received his musical training at The Education University of Hong Kong. He is honoured to have studied with teachers there included Grace Lau Lively Stones, Dr. Sheung-Ping Lai, Jone Chui, who are his greatest musical influences. Over 15 years of teaching experiences and already assisted many students passing in ABRSM examinations from Grade 1 - Grade 8, including Grade 5 theory. Tang has worked in several schools and music centre with pupils from a wide variety of backgrounds including working in SEN settings. Excellent music qualifications have resulted in many students being selected into good academic schools.

Apart from music tutoring, Tang is also a passionate music composer in the industry. He has been produced music for various international brands such as, Sprite, Kosé, Swipe, etc., and composed numerous jingle music for Radio Television Hong Kong (RTHK). He also wrote movie soundtracks for students’ graduation projects of HKBU Higher Diploma in Creative Film Production.

Besides the identity of music teacher and composer, Tang has also worked as senior sound editor in electronics & toys industry with the chance working with numerous international electronics & toys brand such as Vtech, Fisher-Price, Mattel, etc.

The various musical background gives Tang a possibility to create a customized personal approach for a student, which can work effectively to advance student’s piano performance at an exam, or a concert.

 

Tutoring Approach

Tang has been teaching and mentoring in Music since 2006, students are from 4 years old to adult, elementary level to ABRSM grade 8. Teaching students about score reading skill, technique, aural and musicianship. Apart from teaching musical elements, He aim to develop their own creative and critical thinking, and, most importantly, to develop a love for playing the piano! Currently offer piano lessons to children and adults in Manchester and surrounding areas.
