Teaching Diary - Intensive practice

There are increasing numbers of adult students recently. It is not easy for them to learn something new as they have to manage their work, family or even children at the same time. Really appreciate their efforts! That's why intensive practice is crucial for them.

"Mind-reading" is one of the effective ways when we are on the way to the company or home. Listening to the recording and reading the score precisely at the same time can help us memorise the notes quickly. We might find some missing details as we seldom look at them in detail during practice. Also, when you feel tired after work, and you can only spend a couple of minutes to practice, you can try to pick a fragment. Practice the fragment in general, add some details step by step, memorise it, polish it. You will find this couple of minutes more meaningful than just playing the whole piece roughly for several times.

Try to find some ways that make you feel comfortable, feasible and manageable. Your effort will certainly pay off at the end!
