Teaching Diary - Another way to practice

I am sure many students, no matter what instruments they are learning, encounter bottlenecks when it comes to a long phrase/complex rhythm/difficult chords and position etc. They always start practicing from the first note, get stuck with the same place over and over and then get bored of practicing it.

It is commonly known that "long-short", "short-long" and "long-short-short-short' rhythm" are the ways to solve the problem. But it seems very easy to get bored with the beginning of a phrase and give up at the end. Why not try to practice from the last note? We can add a group of notes step by step from the end to the beginning of a phrase. Students will not lose their patience easily. At the same time, they can be familiar with each part of a phrase, not just the first few notes from the beginning. It helps us to memorise the notes also!
